This month we had an outside suggestion from our brother
Alpha Saliou Daimaô of the 'Le Gros Tas de Zik' blog and Radio show in France. During a conversation with Gadget he recommended a challenge for the Jousters to work with the sounds of John Hicks, a Jazz pianist who worked with several big names and even spent some time as a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers.

The Jazz Jousters were happy to take up Mr Daimaô's challenge and began digging in JH's large, yet hard to find archive and came up with this compilation.

Digging Deep features submissions from Oldy Clap Recordz, Es-K, B3NBi, RickMal, Gadget, Mr. Moods, Pawcut, Dr Dundiff, Stay Classy, newcomer Dr. M∆D featuring Téhu scratching on the ones and two's, and Bones The Beat Head who again blessed us with a classy cover.

Must say it sounds like the Creators name was Hugo Kant . Way too much tracks resemble Hugo’s “once sometime” . Lot less of the Jazz jeez , though I must say I prefer this one over latter since it hasn’t have “Spanish folk music instruments” which are repulsive to me . And wtf with one drum&base track and one who knows want track (baggy, bolted)? Immediately went to trash . If I want quality dru&base I’ll go to Dominick Martin’s ❤️page .
