Memory Package Verse One: What makes me content is wrapped up in memory Everyday spent from zero to twenty - five. It’s what keeps me alive The feeling of peace seeping inside Bright skies and sweet cinnamon Jazz notes when the rhythm sings It’s the little things that ingrain our hearts Memory’s a remedy to erase our scars Into paper darts - reduce the impact Take away the sharp - i’m still in-tact Seasons skim past - people come and go Poetry nights, spotlights, money lows, Funny jokes when there’s none left A hundred bills to pay before the sun-sets Ones we love less before we find the one Ones we love best but their life is gone Chorus x2 Take a picture - capture the moments, Life moves fast but our chapters are frozen, Reflect on the past - master your moments Memories outlast when your laughter is broken Verse Two: Embraced by landscapes as the morning calls And my brain cells are soaked in waterfalls My thoughts and all I feel are submerged Underneath the deep soaked in good earth The ones we loved first - The ones that float away Our past memories help us grow today Every low we face and every higher place BBQ aromas and the nicest tastes By a fireplace in late December It’s the little things that we remember I’m not the centre of my universe Just an element that chose to use her words Its all relevant - like every sunrise Find your kind of peace and live the good life Sometimes i’m uptight - I want to feel free Look behind and trust to find the real me Chorus x2 Take a picture - capture the moments, Life moves fast but our chapters are frozen, Reflect on the past - master your moments Memories outlast when your laughter is broken

Trust 03:36
Trust Verse One: Have you ever had that feeling - alone and detached? Surrounded by people but hopeless and trapped? Now that you’re grown up and moments have past You’re feeling paranoid like to show love’s an act You don’t trust the facts but fiction has stopped Imagination is a picture that’s lost Life’s here’s removed from the mystery of God Where men rule the land and their scripting the plot With fists in a knot - they’re claiming the power Rule & divide - lives claimed and devoured Tainting the landscape - making us sour A a mind goes insane every hour Fame can arouse us - celebrity status I hide behind make-up neglecting my neighbours People are dangerous: it's pressed in the papers We pass the blame but society shapes us Chorus x2: What is trust - how do we define it? Where is trust in a world that's divided? Whose to trust - is it love that decides it? Do we put trust above where the skies sit? Verse Two: We don’t trust each other but hate is our friend, I log into posts from the racism trend, news feeds of children that pray for the end To violence, corruption and waiting for men To wake up and sense that there’s got to be more More to the misery and option of war There’s got to be more but it’s hard to envision ... We turn off television Choose not to listen & silence the sound Create our own drama with nights on the town And we hide in the crowds Virtually connected - our minds in the clouds, I’m writing for now as a means of escape A break from the things that might keep me in shape Society says to succeed and be great It’s all about looks and the upkeep of taste Chorus x2: What is trust - how do we define it? Where is trust in a world that's divided? Whose to trust - is it love that decides it? Do we put trust above where the skies sit? Verse Three: When I was young I thought trust was easy But no-one trusts me - i’m on CCTV I can’t trust you: can you believe me? Can I trust what society teaches me? I can dream free but awake i’m not Anyway - who really makes the plot? I heard our pay’s been chopped and even wages stopped They said we made a loss. But maybe not. Maybe what we’ve heard is just an edit A segment of the story as they tell it Something’s missing but we continue And blame each-other for the mess we got into Who can we trust? Who can I trust? Is it them? Is it me? Is it us? Am I alone - is there someone above? Or should the stars on the ground be enough? Chorus x4: What is trust - how do we define it? Where is trust in a world that's divided? Whose to trust - is it love that decides it? Do we put trust above where the skies sit?

Where The Wild Things Are Verse One: Imagination sparked by animation Playgrounds - boys found - kiss chase them Impatient, waiting for break when, We’d hide out & find how to make friends, Misshaped dens - enter another world I could be what I dreamed - be another girl Create magic - a rainbow of flowers, Hopscotch and drop super powers, Borrow Bernard’s watch. Move the hours, Take off - gliding in Bauers, To the moon and back again Leaving at noon. Back Saturday. Every Sunday - it was a rest day Board games. Check mate & the best cakes Hibernate away with the cassette tape Whole world tuned into what Bex played. Chorus: Where the wild things are Take me back to where the wild things are x 3 Things change. Searching for stars. Take me back to where the wild things are. Verse Two: Summertime, swing ball & girl-thoughts, Competing spirit into all sports, Straining to hear as the world talked, Wishing I was tall but i’d fall short, We all walk - before we run fast. Plus that someone has to come last, Elements, sentiments that I shrugged at, Always racing hard as my lungs gasped, Pushed past every boundaries, Sounding out. Figuring how to be Feminine: not just one of the boys Trying to be with one of the boys Observing how girl-like types be Heartbreak & Princess Diaries, Then digital love. Wink & smiley. Daydreaming of what life might be... Chorus: Where the wild things are Take me back to where the wild things are x 3 Things change. Searching for stars. Take me back to where the wild things are. Verse Three: First dates, grown-ups & workplace, In the real world where the hurt aches, Where digesting news leaves a burnt taste, Can’t sleep or dream: toss and turn late Then awake to the same old routine, 9 to 5 - your eyes look through me, It seems I lost my powers now I’m guessing all the flowers drowned No rest days. This is real life. The lid on inspiration is sealed tight Close my eyes to dream but it don’t feel right. Chorus: Where the wild things are Take me back to where the wild things are x 3 Things change. Searching for stars. Take me back to where the wild things are.

One of Those Days… Verse one by Lady Paradox: It’s one of those days - my limbs are heavy weights, Under British skies and the weather’s grey, Watching Breaking Bad as I vegetate, My phone rings - - - they better wait, In my settled state: can’t handle conversation, Watching episode 8 before the songs rotating, Need to write myself but i’m appreciating, Still in my PJs & the day is wasting Producers losing patience - I need to write, Need to pay bills, clean & fix my mic, Everything is effort - I should be out tonight, Housemates back in town for a reunite, I’m not feeling right - might have to cancel it, Phone is ringing again but I don’t answer it, I should get dressed but now it’s half eight, A lack of motivation that I can’t shake. Chorus x2 - It’s one of those days. I can’t get moving. One of those days... you know? the mood swings One of those days. I can’t get started One of those days. My mind’s departed. Verse two by Gadget: I plan the hell out of a day… it makes no difference. Sitting at my desk as I procrastinate for instance. My workload’s growing. To do list is getting vast I say today’s the day, but today’s the same as the last Waking up early, stress, then hit the sack late. Without progress where do I fit in this rat race. Collabs wait, patiently, but still they’re wait on me. Known as reliable, so all this idle really grates on me. Time out? “oh” …. My lady wants a holiday. But with all this work I don’t deserve it, I don’t want it babe. Who am I kidding? I need a change of scenery A plane, train or coach trip, gazing at the greenery. …so I can come back and delve deep Not watch Netflix instead of on beats for LP Who calls it one of those days. Huh, that’s her assumption but The way I’m going it’s accumulating to a month of em. Chorus x2 - It’s one of those days. I can’t get moving. One of those days... you know? the mood swings One of those days. I can’t get started One of those days. My mind’s departed. x4 bar verse three by Lady Paradox: So I drag myself out of bed - it’s an effort though Nothing to rush for today - getting ready slow Clouds reflecting my mood like the weather knows It’s a working week: I guess i’d better go... x4 bar Verse Three Gadget: Monday morning blues stay with me through to Sunday. I can’t make excuses and do things a month late. I must distractions away. Step out mundane routines. This lack of motivation is a must change x4 bar verse three Lady Paradox:: I’m up late procrastinating Got words in my mind but I keep Gadget waiting, I moan about slackness - i’m doing the same thing, I’m Lady Paradox & that’s what the name brings... x4 bar verse three by Gadget: Feeling like a failure. Will it all come together in the end if I let the soul tether to the pen? It's mellow with a blend of Blues as the mood swings. I can't connect the ends. Feeling doomed as I do sing... Chorus x2 - It’s one of those days. I can’t get moving. One of those days... you know? the mood swings One of those days. I can’t get started One of those days. My mind’s departed.

Dear Future Self Dear Future Self, what’s happening now? Are you settled down looking happy and proud? Releasing your words to a passionate crowd? Are you still anxious and rattled with doubt? Is there family round - did you create? Do you still have dreams to one day be great? Are people united or breathing hate? What’s the climate like? Do the seasons change? Is it an equal race - whose at the top? Is there war, anger, losing the plot? Religious individuals assuming your lost? What’s the radio like - do you tune in a lot? Is the music forgot or still in your soul? Do you love the heat? Dread the winter cold? Have you travelled far - seen the inca’s gold? Do you think like me or is your thinking old? Chorus - To my future self in a distant place Just like me but her wisdom’s great I met my future self and the rhythm played She said appreciate and just live your days’ Dear Future Self, has the world progressed? Do you feel happy or are you depressed? Do you worry less or is life a stress? Are you calm, peaceful, with time to rest? Is it shining less - the sun you adore? Did you move closer- absorbed by the shores? Are there still wars - is the fighting raw? Do your looks mean less now you’re ninety-four? Are you rhyming more observing the world? Do you love the poetry you learnt as a girl? Do you feel lost or disconnected? Is difference rejected? Are people accepted? And whose rested - whose departed? Did you say goodbye to your father? Do you wish that your tried a bit harder? How long have you got? I’m only just getting started. Chorus - To my future self in a distant place Just like me but her wisdom’s great I met my future self and the rhythm played She said appreciate and just live your days’ I stopped. She replied wisely. I saw myself as I gazed in her eyes deep As she spoke her words would remind me That life moves fast and the time speeds She said I dream of a place where I can feel at home and be safe there Know my children are grown and their pay’s fair Pollution - lungs groan when they taste air And I wake scared she said slowly The world moves fast and i’m lonely The questions you ask kinda throw me Cause the answers won’t help you to know me Yes my home’s sweet - I smell the ocean, Yes my words still hold my emotion, Yes there’s war and the winters are frozen Changes & sameness - just grasp every moment Chorus x2 - To my future self in a distant place Just like me but her wisdom’s great I met my future self and the rhythm played She said appreciate and just live your days’

about

Lady Paradox and Gadget have actually talked about working together since 2008, when they found a mutual respect for each other’s craft and work ethic over the years. Like many collaborators, it was a case of trying to mutually find the perfect time to commit to the many ideas they had in mind. Now, after a few collaborations via compilations and the odd single release, they have finally managed to conjure up their first collaborative project entitled ‘Mood Swings’. The album nicely blends Jazz infused beats with laid back vocals and a sense of familiarity that leaves us wondering why this project hadn't happened sooner.

The features were well thought out and kept to a minimum as they employ the talents of the Boom Bap Professionals emcee Efeks (one half of Prose), the vocalist Anna Stott aka Anna Uhuru (Ikestra), and the talented James Greenway who handles all artwork.
